Land Sales by Thomas and Celia Haynes
Roads in the vicinity of the Haynes place in 1849
This page contains links to Google maps that I have constructed showing the early sale by Thomas Haynes of what he apparently considered to be surplus land not needed as part of the Haynes place, and two later sales by his wife, Celia Ann. These sales were all to persons outside the Haynes family. The sales and gifts made to members of the Haynes family are shown on a separate page.
The map shown here, which is a small portion of Texas GLO historic map 7826, depicts roads in the vicinity of Texana and the Haynes place in 1849. To travel back and forth to Port Lavaca, Thomas probably was more likely to use the regular steamboat service between Texana and Port Lavaca, rather than travel overland.
