The following list of events represents the early history of the Haynes place, from the time that Thomas Haynes moved his family to the Haynes place around 1849 until after his death in 1864 and the settling of his estate in 1876. During the early 1850s, Thomas sold surplus land within the Musquiz Grant that he did not consider to be needed as part of the Haynes place. His last child, Zeidi, was born and probably died when she was about 7 years old.
