Know all men by these presents that I, Thomas Haynes, in consideration of two dollars ($2) per acre (one hundred of which is paid in hand), have this day sold and do by these presents sell and convey unto Elizabeth A. Stockdale, the following described piece of land, being a part of the original grant to Ramon Musquiz and which is to be bounded as follows:
Beginning at a stake thirty yards from the plank fence enclosing said Elizabeth’s field in the upper line of the said Haynes as per deed from Edward M. Glenn to him and the same stake mentioned in a deed from said Haynes to Elizabeth A. Lytle (now Elizabeth A. Stockdale) of 19th March 1857;
Thence along said line to a point opposite or in the course of the lower line of said Stockdale’s pasture fence;
Thence with said fence towards the river to the lower corner of the tract contained in the same deed of the 19th March 1857;
Thence along another line of said tract to the beginning.
The quantity contained in this boundary is not known but as soon as ascertained, if exceeding fifty acres, the said Stockdale agrees to pay at the rate of two dollars per acre; if under fifty acres said Haynes will refund.
To have and to hold the same forever, and said Haynes agrees to warrant and defend the title for the same against all claims forever by these presents.
In testimony whereof he hereunto sets his hand and seal the 12th April 1862.
