Know all men by these presents, that I, Celia A. Haynes, a citizen of Jackson County in the State of Texas, for and in consideration of the sum of five thousand dollars ($5,000) to me paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have this day granted, bargained, sold and conveyed, and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell, and convey unto Amos W. Haynes, a citizen of said county and state, all the following described property, to wit:
Three thousand (3,000) acres of land, less six hundred and forty (640) acres out of said land now owned by Christopher Haynes, said three thousand acres is situated on the west side of the Lavaca River in Jackson County, the same being a part of the Ramon Musquiz 5½ league grant, and is known as the homestead place of the late Thomas Haynes, deceased;
Also all that certain stock of cattle ranging in Jackson and surrounding counties estimated at about four hundred (400) head, branded “C H” and marked crop and underbit in the right ear;
To have and to hold the above described property, together with all and singular the right and appurtenances thereto in any wise belonging, unto the said Amos W. Haynes, his heirs or assigns forever, and I do hereby bind myself, my heirs, executors, and administrators to warrant and forever defend all and singular the said property unto the said Amos W. Haynes, his heirs and assigns, against every person whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof.

BEFORE ME, J. D. Owen, a Notary Public of Jackson County on this day personally appeared Mrs. Celia A. Haynes known to me to be the person whose name is subscribed to the foregoing instrument and acknowledged tome that she executed the same for the purposes and consideration therein set forth.
